Work is underway to connect the last 300 meter section of the coastal path that will allow pedestrians and cyclist to travel from Estepona Port to Laguna Village without any interruptions. This new stretch of the Senda Litoral Estepona runs from Villas Andaluzas and Alcazaba Beach developments.
The deputy mayor of the Infrastructure and Tourism Development Area, Ana Velasco, explained that this new section corresponds to an urban development charge, mandatory for the owners of the land, so there will be no cost to the municipal coffers.
This project to unite the entire coast is advancing at a great pace. It should be remembered that the Junta de Andalucía granted authorization for the construction of a new section of the coastal corridor in front of the Riviera Andaluza urbanization.
The works will be tendered in the coming weeks and contemplate the creation of a pedestrian path that will link the area of the H10 hotel and the recently built bridge over the course of the Guadalobón river. This infrastructure will connect the longest bridge on the path – built on the Guadalobón creek – with the H10 hotel promenade and the El Cristo beach. The budget for this work amounts to 117,950.61 euros and it will be the Commonwealth of Municipalities of the Western Costa del Sol that will tender and finance the works.
