Photo Art Exhibition “The journey of my soul” by EVELYN KORTUM ‘e.wasserhase’ at Casa Las Tejerinas
The Estepona City Council informs that Room 2 of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de las Flores, will host from next May 11, at 6:00 p.m., an art exhibition by Evelyn Kortum, known as e .wasserhase.
The exhibition is entitled “The journey of my soul”, and is made up of pieces that the artist recovers from natural waste, such as the bark of palm trees, eucalyptus trees or bamboo, on which she paints. She also uses other supports, such as fishing nets, wooden canvases, ceramics or metal.
The exhibition, which can be visited until May 24, from Tuesday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with free access.
EVELYN KORTUM , aka e.wasserhase, recovers natural waste, uses it as a canvas and works towards sustainable and unique pieces of art, mainly using acrylic paint.
Each piece is worked with love, passion and respect for its natural form. The colours and shapes chosen not only embellish the pieces, but often enhance their natural beauty. His inspirations are varied, but mainly emanate from Aboriginal and ethnic art, shapes and often vivid colours.
Also his practice of Reiki and Tai Chi, mindfulness, meditation, yoga and psychology, define his artistic work. He does not seek perfection, but the fluidity and integration of the different shapes and colors with the piece itself, formed naturally, to develop creative and unique works of art. For Evelyn, the painting itself is often linked to a deep meditation in a world of endless creativity and joy.
In February of this year, the artist exhibited her works in Tavira, Portugal, at Casa André Pilarte and at Artesis. In East Algarve Magazine, April 2023 issue, for which she was interviewed, she is listed as ‘Artist of the Month’.
