The Casa de Las Tejerinas hosts a pictorial exhibition by the Argentine artist Nora Andrea Ghirlanda

The Estepona City Council informs that the Argentine artist Nora Andrea Ghirlanda will show her latest pictorial works in an individual exhibition in Room 2 of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de las Flores, whose inauguration will take place next Thursday, June 20 , at 6:00 p.m.

The exhibition consists of a collection of 10 large-format works made with the acrylic technique on canvas, and another 12 small-format works on canvas on passepartout, with natural dyes on canvas (Botanicart series) and on watercolor paper (Natura series). . They can be visited until July 10, from Tuesday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with free access.

Nora Andrea Ghirlanda was born in Quilmes, Buenos Aires (Argentina) in 1967. She is a Visual Arts Teacher and Graphic Designer. At 23 years old she made her first trip to Italy, the land of her ‘nonos’. There she takes a study trip through the museums and churches of several cities in Italy. She made another trip to Italy and Paris in ’97, and in 2002 she moved for a year to live in Acitrezza, Sicily, a place that inspired her art.

The search for his roots and spirituality was always beating inside him as the primary driving force of his life. Through art and especially painting, she expresses these feelings, sensations, emotions, experiences, memories… From that connection with her self and his emotions, visceral and passionate, she understands painting and visual expression.

He has participated in several group exhibitions and obtained several mentions. In 2010 she held two individual exhibitions at the Cultural Center ‘Elmirro de Delfos’, in Recoleta, Buenos Aires: ‘Memories of another Life’ and ‘Expocolores’, for the benefit of the Garrahan Foundation. In 2017 and 2018 she held two individual exhibitions with more than 30 paintings in each of them at the House of Culture of Quilmes, Buenos Aires.

His work can be found in several countries such as Argentina, Switzerland, Italy, Uruguay and Spain.

She worked as a graphic designer for several years in Argentina, Italy and Spain. She has worked as a teacher of Plastic Art Education for 20 years in schools in Buenos Aires. She designed and edited the Italia Espresso Magazine in 1999/2000. Italoargentina magazine of cultural interest. In 2022 she illustrated, designed and edited a Haiku book ‘Instants’, with 26 Chinese ink illustrations.
