This new infrastructure connects with the Casablanca area, avoiding the exit to the A7, and is located next to the green and leisure area of 20,000 square meters created in this neighborhood
The City Council reports that the works of a new road that connects the Bel-Air and Casablanca urbanizations, which are part of the urbanization project for the development of this suburban area, have been completed. The deputy mayor of the area of Development, Infrastructure and Tourism (FIT), Ana Velasco has explained that these works that have had an investment of 463,000 euros also creating of a large garden with play areas of 20,000 square meters.
In relation to the new road, the mayor has reported that it is 130 meters long and that it connects Calle Retamar with Avenida Bel-Air, which will prevent residents from having to make unnecessary journeys along the A7 motorway.. In addition this connection has all the supply services hidden in the ground and new street lighting.
He has also highlighted the burial of two high voltage towers that until now were in this area. Thanks to these works, the aerial wiring of these structures has been eliminated and replaced by another equivalent that runs through the subsoil. Likewise, the road network of the area has been improved and visual pollution has been eliminated.
The 20,000 square meters that has been created in this environment within the Bel-Air development project, has an extensive grass area where citizens can walk and explore different paths, as well as two playgrounds, a biosaludable park and urban furniture. It has specimens of Mediterranean plants such as Pines and Holm oaks, as well as an oasis of Palm trees.
The deputy mayor of the FIT area has indicated that the costs of this action have been borne by the owners of the area through urbanization fees, as has been done in other areas of the municipality that were pending urbanization. In regard, the mayor has explained that the City Council has been responsible for promoting the project and managing the procedures for the tendering and adjudication of the works.
Finally, Velasco also indicated that this action has contributed to value an area of the eastern suburbs of the municipality where in recent years an important development with new infrastructure and services has been carried out.
