Estepona town

Welcome to your latest update from Just Estepona! Estepona continues to shine as one of the Costa del Sol’s most dynamic and desirable towns, with exciting new developments and projects shaping the local landscape. Here’s what’s happening right now in our beautiful corner of the coast.

🚗 New Parking Solutions

Estepona, April 07, 2025. – The Estepona City Council has announced a proposal to expand the municipal public parking network — currently offering more than 2,000 spaces at a rate of just one euro per day — by incorporating three privately operated car parks into the system. The Council has made an offer to the three concession companies that currently manage these rotating car parks to purchase the parking spaces and integrate them into the city’s pioneering low-cost model.

🌊 Sea Promenade Upgrade — A Seaside Stroll to Remember

One of Estepona’s most loved features, the Paseo Marítimo (Senda Litoral), has undergone a stunning transformation. The newly completed pedestrianised promenade along Avenida España now stretches nearly 22 km, making it one of the longest in Spain. Whether you’re enjoying a morning jog, evening stroll, or taking in the ocean views from one of the many cafes, this improved coastal walkway is a must-see.

✝️ Semana Santa 2025 in Estepona

From April 11th to 20th, Estepona will host its beloved Semana Santa (Holy Week) celebrations. Expect beautiful processions featuring ornate floats, traditional music, and deep-rooted Spanish Catholic traditions. Processions will take place on Palm Sunday, Easter Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday — an unmissable cultural experience whether you’re religious or simply enjoy Spanish tradition.

🏙️ The Stunning Mirador del Carmen Viewing Tower

One of Estepona’s most striking new additions is the Mirador del Carmen, a modern tower that seamlessly blends architecture, culture, and leisure. This 13-storey landmark offers breathtaking panoramic views across the town and the Mediterranean, making it a must-visit for anyone wanting to see Estepona from a new perspective.

Inside the tower, visitors can explore a vibrant cultural centre, complete with art galleries and rotating exhibitions that highlight both local talent and national works. It’s a fantastic way to connect with the artistic heartbeat of the town.

On the 12th floor, you’ll find the elegant Cielo Skybar and Restaurant — a stylish rooftop space perfect for enjoying a sunset drink or a gourmet meal while overlooking the stunning coastline. With its chic interior, relaxed ambience, and ever-changing skies, it’s already become one of Estepona’s most sought-after spots.

🌴 Laguna Village Rebirth — Coming Soon!

Exciting news for locals and tourists alike: Laguna Village is making a big comeback. Following its unfortunate destruction in 2020, the new development is well underway and promises a fresh blend of luxury shopping, beach clubs, and fine dining. While parts of the new Laguna Beach are still under development, it’s already generating a buzz and is expected to open in phases over the coming year. Stay tuned!
